Share Your Knowledge of Bartending Skills

Tourism HR Canada is seeking volunteers to participate in a two-hour virtual meeting to identify and review competencies for our Bartender National Occupational Standards. We take pride in our standards reflecting the latest industry input—and we can’t do this without knowledge and expertise from the field!

(What are competencies? They are the skills, knowledge, abilities, and behaviours required for success in tourism occupations.)

We are looking for volunteers who have diverse experience and who work in a variety of different sizes and types of organizations (hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, caterers). We need dynamic individuals willing to share experiences and learn through discussions and participation.

In the two-hour virtual session, we will discuss the definition/scope of the bartending occupation, identify competencies to be included in the Bartender National Occupational Standards, and review the content of recently developed bartending-specific competencies. The session will be conducted by a trained facilitator who will guide you through the process.

Volunteers must be available on Wednesday, November 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

If you are interested in joining a dynamic group of subject matter experts—or if you know of someone who could contribute—please provide your contact information by completing this quick form.

Should you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Mady at smady@tourismhr.ca.
