Tourism HR Canada formed the Advisory Council to ensure a forum for stakeholders to make their voices heard and to help shape the direction of labour market developments taking place.
The Advisory Council is a separate body that provides guidance on hot-button issues and other relevant initiatives facing the tourism sector nationally. The Council reflects and represents the diverse views and nature of the tourism labour market in Canada.
The Council was constructed to be flexible, allowing its size to expand and contract dependent on the scale and number of labour market issues the body is addressing. Members can participate in any topic of importance to them, but there is no expectation for members to participate in any activity they feel is not in their strategic interest.
Core to the Advisory Council’s mandate: facilitate, coordinate, and enable discussion on tourism labour market issues. Members provide insight and progressive dialogue on a host of key issues facing Canada’s tourism sector.
Tourism HR Canada is looking for tourism champions who have a passion for the sector and want to spearhead initiatives that drive Canada’s tourism labour market engagement and offer a greater understanding of tourism’s economic impact. Interested applicants should email info@tourismhr.ca for the terms of reference and details about the activities of the Advisory Council.
