Tourism’s recovery demands timely labour market research and analysis to inform smart, strategic programs and policies. As the trusted source for this data, Tourism HR Canada is pleased to announce the expansion of its Labour Market Intelligence team, as it welcomes a new Vice-President and a new Director.
Isabelle de Bruyn will lead the team as Vice-President, Labour Market Intelligence. Originally from France, Isabelle has extensive experience in the tourism sector. Her most recent role was as Project Manager, Tourism, with the Société Économique de l’Ontario (SEO). Prior to this, she has worked at the municipal level as a tourism director, in marketing and sales, and for the Pontiac CLD (development centre) as a tourism advisor and general manager. Isabelle also sits currently on the Board of Directors for the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO).
Evan Hazenberg comes on board as Director, Labour Market Intelligence. He was most recently at the UK’s University of Sussex, working as a researcher, project manager, teacher, and research advisor.
Isabelle and Evan join Labour Market Analyst Yuanzhong Shi and Project Analyst Ying Zhou as Tourism HR Canada continues vital work on key initiatives that are shaping the recovery and growth of Canada’s tourism sector. These include comprehensive research to help minimize labour shortages and skills imbalances, explore perceptions of working in tourism, track compensation data, monitor emerging workforce trends, and more—all with the ultimate goal of ensuring that Canada’s tourism sector remains globally competitive and innovative.
