The Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Tourism

Tourism HR Canada Welcomes New Tourism Minister

Tourism HR Canada congratulates The Honourable Pascale St-Onge on her new appointments as the Minister of Tourism and the Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec. Minister St-Onge will act concurrently in these roles along with her role as Minister of Canadian Heritage.

Tourism HR Canada looks forward to collaborating with Minister St-Onge as the organization engages in new and innovative ways to support individuals working in two million tourism jobs in every corner of this country—and to support employers in attracting and retaining new talent to meet growing demand for Canada’s world-class experiences and destinations.

The Tourism HR Canada team extends its sincere thanks to Ms. Soraya Martinez Ferrada, who stepped down as Minister of Tourism earlier this month. As Minister, Martinez Ferrada was a firm supporter of initiatives to grow a diverse, skilled, and welcoming tourism workforce. Her open dialogue and participation at key tourism events, such as the annual Labour Market Forum, showcased the government’s actions to advance the Federal Tourism Growth Strategy and its understanding of tourism’s importance to the Canadian economy.
