The Research Advisory Council (RAC) is a key partner across Tourism HR Canada’s research initiatives, and will provide strategic advice and practical recommendations to Tourism HR Canada on ongoing and emergent research priorities. The Council reflects and represents the diverse views and nature of the tourism labour market in Canada.

The RAC operates with respect for federal, provincial, and territorial jurisdictions, focusing on shared interests in labour market information. It provides evidence-based, outcome-driven advice, avoids duplicating efforts, and emphasizes financial responsibility by leveraging existing resources and partnerships.

The RAC includes stakeholders from the tourism ecosystem with expertise in research areas relevant to Tourism HR Canada. Member selection will ensure balanced representation across disciplines, industry groups, and regions. The RAC also prioritizes diversity, aiming to meet the 50/30 standards for the inclusion of women and underrepresented groups, to address systemic barriers in the tourism sector.

The RAC may be called upon by Tourism HR Canada’s leadership team, by the Board of Directors, by the research team, or by another interested party to provide additional insight or reporting on emergent issues related to research, as they arise.
