Canadian Tourism Employment Monthly Snapshot – May 2019

(seasonally unadjusted) In May 2019, the unemployment rate1 in the tourism sector was at 5.4%, which is 0.9% higher than the rate reported in May 2018, but lower than the previous month (April 2019), when the unemployment rate stood at 5.5%. At 5.4%, tourism’s unemployment rate was below Canada’s seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.5%.
