Return on Training Investment Tool (ROTI)
The Return on Training Investment Tool (ROTI) was designed to provide a means to identify the value of formal training related to the costs of training and the benefits achieved in six performance measures: sales, upselling, cost savings staff turnover, customer satisfaction, and employee competence. It is not necessary to fill in information for all measures, however, formal training should have occurred in order for this tool to be useful. As businesses will not use all six categories to the same degree, some areas of the tool may not be relevant to a given occupation. ROTI takes this into account and will calculate ROI, and the payback period (the number of weeks required to recover the cost of training) based upon the sales and cost savings information entered. Because of this, the tool works best for occupations with a sales element.
